Jurnal ICMES: The Journal of Middle East Studies is published by the Indonesia Center for Middle East Studies (ICMES), an independent research institution. The journal publishes original research on the Middle East from the perspective of International Relations, welcoming interdisciplinary approaches that contribute to understanding the region’s international and transnational dynamics.

The journal’s scope includes:

• Foreign policy, diplomacy, and relations among Middle Eastern states and between the region and the wider world.

• International and regional security, armed conflict, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution.

• International political economy, including trade, energy, development, and economic cooperation.

• International organisations, regional cooperation, and non-state actors.

• Transnational movements, migration, religion, identity, and culture in international relations.

• Historical studies that help explain contemporary international relations in the Middle East.

The journal also welcomes research on Indonesia’s relations with the Middle East. Submissions should connect their analysis to international, regional, or transnational issues rather than address domestic developments in isolation.
